Version 1.0 · Effective November 2, 2026 · Last updated: November 2, 2026
This policy explains what StudioSavings collects, why, who else receives it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers studiosavings.com and the emails we send.
1. Who we are
StudioSavings, a business registered in California. Our address is 2108 N St Ste N, Sacramento, CA 95816, United States. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@studiosavings.com or use the contact form.
2. Who StudioSavings is for
StudioSavings is run from the United States for creatives in the United States. You're welcome to use it from anywhere. If you do, your information is processed and stored in the United States. Accounts are for people 18 and older.
3. What we collect
When you create an account: your email address. As you use your account, we also keep:
- the creative work you pick;
- the tools you save;
- which discounts you reveal a code for and when, and whether the code worked, if you tell us. We keep these records to run the site and measure use; your account doesn't show them as a list;
- reports you send about a discount, including any note you add;
- your email preferences.
When you ask for a tool alert or the newsletter (no account needed): your email address and the tools you asked about. We also keep a record of your permission: the exact wording you agreed to, its version, where on the site you signed up, and when. If you unsubscribe, we record when.
When you message us: the name, email address, organization and message you send through our contact, partner or business forms.
When you click through to a discount: which discount, when, the StudioSavings page you came from, your account if you're signed in, and a random click code (section 7).
When you use the site:
- page views and actions, such as requesting an alert or revealing a code;
- a random analytics ID that PostHog stores in a cookie in your browser (section 5);
- the page you're on and the site that sent you;
- campaign tags (UTM parameters), and whether you came from a search engine, a social site or an AI assistant;
- the technical information our providers receive with every request (your IP address, browser and device type), and error details when something breaks.
We use your IP address to estimate your country and region, and briefly to limit spam on our forms.
Cookies: first-party only. Sign-in cookies, an analytics cookie with a random ID, and one that remembers if you turn analytics off (section 5).
What we don't collect: payment card details (section 8), government ID numbers, precise location, or health, biometric or other sensitive information. Please don't include sensitive information in messages or reports.
4. How we use it
We use your information to:
- run your account and show you the discounts it opens up;
- send the emails described in section 6;
- check and maintain discounts, including acting on your reports;
- earn commissions: an affiliate network tells us when a click led to a purchase, using the random click code;
- understand, in aggregate, which pages, tools and discounts people use;
- keep StudioSavings secure, prevent abuse and fix errors;
- meet legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We don't make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Analytics, cookies and Do Not Track
Cookies. All our cookies are first-party: they're set on studiosavings.com for our own use.
- Sign-in cookies keep you signed in.
- The analytics cookie holds a random ID so PostHog can tell a repeat visit from a new one. It doesn't contain your name or email address, and it lasts up to a year after your last visit.
- One more cookie remembers if you turn analytics off.
We don't use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, session recording or cross-site tracking.
Analytics. Our analytics provider, PostHog, records page views and actions.
- In your browser, activity is tied to the random ID in the analytics cookie, so we can count repeat visits and see which pages people come back to. That ID isn't linked to your account.
- If you're signed in, activity that happens on our servers, such as revealing a code or clicking through to a discount, is tied to your account's internal ID.
- When you request a sign-in link, we record the request under a keyed, one-way code made from your email address, not the address itself. That code can't be turned back into your address, but it is still linked to you, so we treat it as personal information.
- Your IP address is used by PostHog to estimate your country and region, and then discarded.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we turn analytics off for you: we don't load our analytics script or set the analytics cookie, we delete the analytics cookie if one is already there, and we don't send your activity on our servers to PostHog. We still keep the records StudioSavings needs to work, such as your account and the click log used for commissions.
Turning analytics off yourself. Turn off analytics for this browser. It works the same way as the browser signals: analytics stops in this browser and the analytics cookie is deleted. A small cookie remembers your choice; if you clear your cookies, you'll need to turn analytics off again.
Other companies' tracking. We don't run advertising or cross-site trackers on our pages. Our analytics provider works only for us, and its cookie is set on our own domain, so other companies can't use StudioSavings to follow your activity across sites. When you click through to a tool maker's site, that site and any affiliate network in between may collect information under their own policies.
6. Emails
Emails that come with an account. An account is an ongoing service, so we email you about it (Terms, section 5):
- Account and security notices: sign-in links, security alerts, and changes to our Terms or this policy. These continue while you have an account.
- Product updates: important changes to StudioSavings, such as new features, changes to what free accounts include, or the launch of a paid option like StudioSavings Premium. Product updates include an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops them.
Emails you ask for. The newsletter and tool alerts go only to people who ask for them, and each has its own permission. Every one includes an unsubscribe link that works without signing in and takes effect right away.
Our newsletter, tool alerts and product updates include our postal address. We don't give your email address to tool makers, affiliate networks or advertisers.
7. Who else receives your information
Service providers. These companies process information for us under contracts that limit how they can use it:
| Provider | What they do for us | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosts the site | United States |
| Supabase | Database and sign-in | United States |
| PostHog | Product analytics | United States |
| Sentry | Error monitoring | United States |
| Resend | Sends our emails | United States |
| Cloudflare | Stores our encrypted database backups | United States |
| GitHub | Runs our backup job | United States |
Tool makers and affiliate networks. When you click through to a discount, we send your browser to the tool maker's site, sometimes through an affiliate network. The link carries a random click code so the network can tell us whether a purchase happened and pay us a commission. We don't give them your name or email address. Once you're on their sites, they collect information under their own policies and may set their own cookies.
Totals only. We may tell tool makers how many people are interested in their tools, for example how many asked for an alert, but only as totals that don't identify anyone.
Legal and safety. We may disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of StudioSavings, our users or others.
If the business changes hands. If we move StudioSavings to an affiliated company, or StudioSavings is sold or merged, your information moves with it. The new operator must follow this policy or tell you before changing it, and we'll update section 1 and tell account holders.
We don't share personal information with other companies for their own marketing.
8. Payments for StudioSavings Premium
Premium isn't available yet. When it is, Lemon Squeezy will sell it as our reseller and merchant of record. You'll pay on Lemon Squeezy's checkout. They handle your payment details and sales tax under their own privacy policy, and we never receive your card number. Lemon Squeezy sends us what we need to run your subscription: customer and subscription IDs, your plan, its status and renewal date, and usually your email address and country.
9. How long we keep it
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Your account and your activity in it: creative work you picked, tools you save, records of the codes you reveal, email preferences | While your account is open, though we may delete some of it sooner if we change or retire a feature. After you delete your account, we delete this within 30 days. Encrypted backup copies may persist for up to 35 days after deletion. |
| Tool alert and newsletter sign-ups | While you're subscribed. 30 days after you unsubscribe from all of them, we delete the list of tools you asked about. Without an account, we keep your email address and the record of your permission and unsubscribe for 3 years, so we can show we had permission and don't email you again, then we delete them. |
| Discount clicks | 24 months linked to your account. After that, we remove the link to you and keep only totals. |
| Reports about discounts | 24 months linked to your account. After that, we remove the link to you and keep the report. |
| Messages from our forms | 24 months after you send them. |
| Analytics events | 1 year (PostHog free plan, confirmed 2026-09-28) |
| Server logs, error reports and email delivery logs | Kept by our providers for 1 to 30 days. |
| Premium billing records | Lemon Squeezy keeps these as tax law requires. We keep your subscription status while your account is open. |
We may keep specific information longer if the law requires it or while we resolve a dispute.
10. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your information, in a format you can take elsewhere. It includes the records of which discounts you revealed and when, but not the codes themselves;
- correct it;
- delete it, or delete your account;
- stop emailing you (every email except account and security notices has an unsubscribe link);
- stop using analytics on your activity (section 5).
To make a request, email hello@studiosavings.com from the address on your account, or use the contact form. We'll confirm the request comes from you, usually by replying to that address, and respond within 30 days. If we need longer, we'll tell you why within those 30 days. Asking won't change how we treat you.
If we turn down a request, we'll explain why. You can reply to ask us to look again, and we'll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to a data protection or consumer protection authority where you live.
11. Security
We protect your information with access controls, encryption in transit, database protections such as row-level security, and encrypted backups with access limited to us. No service can promise perfect security. If a breach affects your information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
12. Children
StudioSavings accounts are for people 18 and older. StudioSavings isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new version number and effective date. If a change is material, we'll email account holders or post a notice on the site before it takes effect. Earlier versions are available on request.
