What it is
Format is a portfolio-website platform for photographers and visual artists: curated themes, drag-and-drop editing, client proofing galleries, print and digital sales, and marketing basics. It belongs in StudioSavings because photographers often need to decide quickly whether a tool is worth paying for, whether a discount is real, and whether a cheaper path changes the buying decision.
It competes on design-forward templates and a photography-first workflow rather than general site-builder breadth. Client proofing and store features concentrate in the higher tiers, so the real comparison is tier-by-tier against gallery-plus-website rivals.
Before paying, note that Format rotates its first-year annual pricing frequently — advertised percentages usually compare against monthly billing annualized, which overstates the saving versus the regular annual price. In our checks, earlier intro pricing had been superseded by a storewide campaign that applied automatically and ended on a stated date. Treat any Format headline price as time-boxed, and confirm the renewal rate before committing.
